A Little-bit-of-everything Kofte

This is for days like today when you reach home and there's a little bit of a lot of things but not enough of any one thing to make a meal for 2.5. This is how I fed the family today:

In a bowl mix together-
2 chicken patties/burger (unbreaded kind)
1/2 small lauki (bottle gourd) grated
1 carrot grated
1 small onion grated
1/2 inch ginger grated
a pinch of garam masala
salt
2 tbsp sattu (I didn't have besan but that wld have been my first choice)
make small balls from this mix and fry and keep.
(At this point you have to keep little and big hands away from them 'coz you'd then be left with no kofte and a dinner still to be made)
Then make regular gravy masala:
grind together one onion, 6-7 cloves of garlic and 1/2 inch piece of ginger. In a little bit of oil first pop cardamom, cloves and cinnamom (and other garam masala you might like) and then fry the onion paste. when browned, add 1 chopped tomato. Fry till it all comes together. add salt, haldi and garam masala powder. add 4-5 tbsps of spinach puree
(I saute spinach in a little olive oil with garlic and then puree it and keep, this way it lasts longer and can be put in all kinds of stuff) Cook for a few minutes more. Add the kofte and stir till the masala covers the kofte. Add 1/2-1 cup of water (I had some veg stock) and bring to boil. Simmer for a few minutes so that the flavours mix and merge.
Dinner Done.
